Tribal Tattoo Pack - The art of decorating the body with tattoos dates back as early as the Ice Age. Peoples from Central Asia and America, tribes and nomads from North Africa and the Middle East, and the Australian Aborigines and Maories have a long tradition of practicing this art. Each design in this pack is unique and carries its own special meaning, whether as religious symbol, talisman, charm, indicator of status or position, or simply an adornment. This book includes instructions and materials to create spectacular tribal designs, including four paints in vibrant, earthy colors, transfer sheets, brush, and instructions. The meanings and myths behind the patterns are clearly explained in the history of this fascinating art.

Tribal Vol.III - Amazon Customer Review: This is an amazing compilation of tribal tattoos from around the world and throughout time. True to its name it features tribal designs, not the neo- tribal tattoos that have come popular today. I found the pictures to be great as I was looking to find out more about tribal designs from many cultures.

Primitives 2 Ed: Tribal Body Art - Customer Review: For those of you who may have missed it the first time around, here is the beautiful second edition printing of PRIMITIVES. First released in 1992, no one had ever seen anything like Gatewood's collection of black and white portraits before, depicting such a wide range of body art and individual expression.Schooled as an anthropologist, Gatewood has fused his education with his love of photography, and has followed and documented U.S. subcultures for the past three decades. Portraits include many (now) well-known figures: father of Modern Primitivism Fakir Musafar, London tattooist Alex Binnie, performance artist Ron Athey, piercer Elayne Binnie, writer/performer Lily (then Braindrop) Burana. Sadly several portraits are now memorials: writer Marco Vassi, Sailor Sid, sideshow performer Michael Wilson. The reproduction values of Gatewood's duotones are good in this edition, there is a new color cover photo, and a new introduction by Gatewood.

Return of the Tribal - attempts to look at all types of body adornment from tribal to urban, from piercing to body painting, from scarification to tattoos, and from genital mutilation to structural modifications of the ears, legs & neck. And it does so with a cornucopia of full-color photos presented alongside a very readable text. This may well be the best book of its kind currently available.
