Sailor Jerry Tattoo Flash - Between 1940 and 1973, Norman Sailor Jerry Collins became known as the greatest practitioner of classic American tattooing. His masterful designs-featuring ships and beautiful girls, eagles, hearts, roses, and other now-familiar motifs-were widely imitated but rarely matched for boldness, elegance, and clarity. This wonderful collection of Sailor Jerry's own working patterns, known as flash art, is a treasure trove for tattoo fans as well as students of Americana and folk art. Each sheet of flash art is reproduced in full size in order to show the subtleties of detail and shading for which Collins was renowned. As today's tattoo renaissance spreads, there is a fast-growing appreciation of the artistic and cultural value of traditional designs like Sailor Jerry's-a fact to which Sailor Jerry Tattoo Flash is a surprisingly beautiful and wit-laced testament. |

Tattoo Flash - 74 Pages. Amazon Customer review: "This book is a must have for any working professional tattoo artist, for reference as well as making money. The book will pay for itself immediately. I have worked in a street shop for five years and have done these designs time and time again. They are classic American designs, some original, some redrawn by the master himself, Ed Hardy. If you can get a copy, keep it, because they will soon be unobtainable, unless it is reprinted, much like the Sailor Jerry Flash book, it will be turning up on Ebay soon. Buy it and learn to tattoo the proper way, by executing REAL tattoos, learn the efficiency of smooth design and bright, bold color. If you do not buy this book, you are a fool. Ed Hardy has revolutionized tattooing, pay respect, pay 80 bucks. " |

Flash from the Past - Flash from the Past: Classic American Tattoo Designs 1890-1965. Amazon Customer Review: "This book is amazing. As an artist and graphic designer; I find the old school style of tattooing both appealing and visually interesting from a historical perspective. The media would have the public believe that tattooing has sprung up among celebrities, models and the young as some passing fad, this is not true. For true tattoo fans and tattoo artists this is the must have book. This book gives a rich history of the art of tattooing with a wide variey of 'old school masters' flash work. The flash in this book has been carefully selected and I did not see a design that did not appeal to me on some level. This is by far one of the best books on old school tattoo art. If you can get your hands on this book-Buy it! " |

Tattoo - Over 80 full color pages! Customer Review: This is the best tattoo book I have purchased so far (and I have bought quite a few). The pictures are full color, full page and beautiful. From the basic to the outrageous and everything in between, if you are into piercings or tattoos this is a book for you. I took this book to my tattoo salon and it was a fight to get it back from the other clients, and my tattoo artist. This book caused me to do some stuff my moom isnt going to like, but heck, I am a grown-up and I can always wear a turtle neck! I totally, completely recommend this book. |
